Dr. Jeffrey L. Weaver joined Optical Expressions in 2012. His clinical emphasis is family practice optometry, but he has a special interest in protecting the eyes from injury and maximizing vision performance at work and play.
When not seeing patients, he is Executive Director of the American Board of Optometry, and Adjunct (Full) Professor at the University of Missouri--St. Louis College of Optometry, where he teaches clinical optometry and environmental vision.
He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1985, and holds an MBA from Drury College and an MS in Physiological Optics from The Ohio State University.
He retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve after serving 30 years as a clinical optometrist, administrator, researcher and commander.
He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Optometry and Optics, and Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, as well as a Diplomate in Public Health and Environmental Vision of the AAO. He is Board Certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
He has been married to his wife Robin for 26 years, and has a daughter Michele (20), son Daniel (10) and granddaughter Skylar (1).
